President
- Serves as the chief executive officer and corporation's face to the public and Canaan Dog organizations
- Recruits new volunteers and board of directors
- Ensures corporate governance in accordance with the bylaws and charter
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local government requirements concerning the corporation's 501(c)3 status
- Schedules and presides over all Board meetings
- Executes instruments (as authorized) on behalf of the corporation
- Direct reports include - Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
- Total anticipated volunteer hours per month: 5-10 hours
Vice President
- Oversees the Canaan Dog Rescue Coordinators
- Establishes, maintains, and implements changes to the rescue process.
- Coaches Rescue Coordinators
- Assists with placements, transports, and fosters when needed
- Ensures data quality and integrity of forms and collected documents
- Maintains national directory of placed dogs
- Issues follow up surveys to placed dogs once per year via mail.
- Total anticipated volunteer hours per month: 5-10 hours
Secretary
- Certifies and keeps the bylaws
- Maintains a book of minutes of all meetings of the directors and their committees
- Ensures that all notices are duly given in accordance with the bylaws or as required by law
- Schedules quarterly Board meetings and establishes telecom dial in numbers
- Serves as custodian of the records and the seal of the corporation
- Moderator of the CDRN Yahoo Groups List
- Total volunteer hours expected per month: 2-5 hours
Treasurer
- Maintains responsibility for all corporate assets
- Receive, gives receipt for, monies due and payable to the corporation
- Disburses the funds of the corporation as may be directed by the board of directors
- Kees and maintains adequate and correct accounts of the corporations business transactions
- Maintains bank accounts and statements. Online and offline.
- Prepares and certifies the financial statements
- Prepares the annual financial report to accompany governmental filings
- Collects all donations from placements and fundraisers
- Creates yearly budget
- Reports quarerly on the tresury status
- Total volunteer hours expected per month: 2-5 hours
Director
- Performs all duties imposed by law, the articles of incorporation, or bylaws
- Appoints and removes, employs and discharges, and prescribes the duties of all officers, agents, and volunteers of the corporation
- Establishes the strategic direction of the corporation
- Supervises all officers, agents, and volunteers of the corporation
- Participates in meetings at such times and places as required by the bylaws.

- Total volunteer hours expected per month: 2 hours per month
There are four regions in North America. East, Midwest, West and Canada. These dedicated individuals are in the heart and soul of the Canaan Dog Rescue Network. They work with owner turn-ins, shelters, and breeders to collect the necessary paperwork and documentation required prior to listing or placing a dog. They Rescue Coordinator:
